Takedown accuracy and defense
Takedowns landed over attempted; defense is the share of an opponent's takedown attempts that failed.
Wrestling decides more fights than any single striking number. Accuracy says how well a fighter finishes their shots; takedowns per 15 minutes says how often they shoot at all.
Takedown defense is often the first number analysts check before a striker meets a wrestler, because it decides where the fight is likely to happen.
The common mistake
A fighter who never shoots has no accuracy, not a bad one. A handful of attempts swings these figures wildly.
