UFC fighter database

Every fighter who has fought in the UFC since 2000: date of birth, height, reach, stance, gym, record by method, career rates and our rating. REST or MCP.

FighterAPI holds a profile for every fighter who has fought in the UFC since 2000: date of birth, height, reach, weight, stance, country and gym, with their UFC record broken down by KO/TKO, submission and decision.

Each profile carries career rates per 15 minutes computed from every fight's stat sheet, and an Elo rating rebuilt from every UFC result since 2000, current and peak. Find a fighter with search_fighters, then everything else is one call. The table below counts the fighters in each year's fights.

Questions

How do I find a fighter's id?

search_fighters takes a name or nickname, accents optional, and returns the id with the fighter's weight class and number of UFC fights.

Is the record their whole career?

The breakdown by method is UFC fights since 2000. The pro_record field carries the full professional record as ESPN lists it.

How is the rating calculated?

Elo from UFC results alone: everyone starts at 1,500, new fighters move faster for their first five fights, and finishes count slightly more than decisions. It is ours, not a ranking.

What it will not do

  • UFC fights only: records and rates do not include other promotions.
  • A fighter who fought before 2000 has those fights missing from the method breakdown and starts their rating mid-career.
