Find fighters by name or nickname

Use it when you have a name or nickname and need the fighter id for the other endpoints. Accents are optional.

Parameters

querystringrequired: Name or nickname, e.g. Topuria or 'El Matador'.
weight_classstringoptional: e.g. Lightweight, Women's Strawweight.
limitintegeroptional: Max results (default 20).

Notes

Over MCP, ask for it in plain English and the client calls search_fighters itself. Point any MCP client at https://mcp.fighterapi.com/mcp?key=YOUR_API_KEY.
Each call costs 1 credit, taken before it runs and refunded if the server errors.
