FighterAPI vs scraping UFC Stats

UFC Stats has no API and shows a browser challenge. FighterAPI serves its round data with results, fighters, odds and ratings over REST and MCP.

UFC Stats (ufcstats.com) is where round-by-round UFC statistics are published, but it has no API: the data is HTML pages, and as of October 2026 those pages answer a plain HTTP request with a "Checking your browser" challenge instead of the data. FighterAPI serves those round-by-round numbers, already parsed and joined to each fight's result, both fighters' profiles, sportsbook lines and our ratings, over a REST API and an MCP server.

The round lines in FighterAPI are UFC Stats' numbers: they come from a public mirror of its pages, never from the site itself, and each fight's rounds are checked against ESPN's fight totals before they are served. What you skip is the scraper, the parsing, the name matching between sources and the upkeep when the pages change.

Use scraping UFC Stats (ufcstats.com) yourself instead if

  • You need fights before 2000: UFC Stats goes back to the early events, FighterAPI starts in 2000.
  • You need a number the moment UFC Stats posts it, and are set up to run a headless browser and maintain a scraper.
  • Your budget is zero and your time is not.

Questions

Does UFC Stats have an API?

No. It publishes HTML pages only, and as of October 2026 plain requests to its event and fight pages get a browser challenge rather than the data.

Is FighterAPI's round data the same as UFC Stats?

Yes, the round lines are UFC Stats' numbers, taken from a public mirror and checked against ESPN's fight totals: 99.5% of fighter lines match exactly, and the rest are flagged in the response.

Which fights does FighterAPI not have rounds for?

Contender Series and The Ultimate Fighter episodes, which UFC Stats does not publish, and the two Noche UFC cards, whose fights are missing from the mirror. Those fights still have full totals, apart from 13 Ultimate Fighter semifinal fights.
